iCloud Backup makes a copy of the information on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and many more devices. When the device is backed up in iCloud, you can easily set up a new device or restore information. To let iCloud automatically back up your device, here’s what you need to do:

iCloud Backup is turned on in Settings > [your name] >iCloud>iCloud Backup. 

Connect your device to a nearby power source.

Connect your device to aavailable Wi-Fi network.

Make sure that your device’s screen is locked.

When you see “iCloud is locked”, it implies any of the following: You forgot the password to sign out of your iCloud account. You purchased a secondhand iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, or iPod touch from someone, but the previous owner did not sign out of his/her iCloud account from the device. Reset your password

Use the steps below to reset your password. You can use a friend’s family member’s iPhone, iPad, or any device. If that doesn’t work it means that you may not be signed in to iCloud on an eligible device.

Follow these steps instead.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Go to Settings.

Tap [your name] > Password> Change Password.

If you are signed in to iCloud and have a passcode enabled, you will be prompted to enter the passcode for your device.

Follow the onscreen steps to update your password.

Use a trusted phone number, trusted email.

You may be able to reset your password by using a trusted phone number or trusted email or any recovery key you have set. If you have any recovery key, you can use the recovery key to reset your password.

Use the Apple Support app

To reset your password we use the Apple Support app on a friend or family member’s device, the device owner will need to download the Apple Support app.

To download the Apple Support app, you need to open the App Store on iPhone, iPad, or iPod, then search for Apple Support and download the app.

To Open the Apple Support app follow these steps:

Tap the Get Support tab at the bottom of the screen.

Scroll down and tap Apple ID.

Tap Forgot Apple ID Password, then tap Get Started.

Tap “A different Apple ID.”

Enter the Apple ID that you need to reset the password for.

Tap Next, then follow the steps on your screen until you receive confirmation that your Apple ID password is changed.

How to create a new Apple ID

An Apple ID is the account which you use to access Apple services. It includes the email address and password that you used to sign in. It also includes all the contact, payment, and security details that you have used across Apple services.

Create an Apple ID on your Windows PC

Open iTunes for Windows. 

From the menu bar, choose Account > Sign In. Then click Create New Apple ID.

Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Complete the form. The email address you provide will be updated as your new Apple ID.

After you’ve filled out the form, tap on Continue. 

Enter your credit card and billing information.

Check for a verification email from apple.

Create an Apple ID when you set up your device

Tap on Forgot password or tap on don’t have an Apple ID.

Tap Create a Free Apple ID.

Select your birthday and enter your name. Tap Next.

Use your current email address, tap Get a free iCloud email address.
