What are electric actuators?
Electric actuators are used mainly in automatic applications. For example, when we use a gate or a valve requires controlled movement or rotation to particular positions we use electric actuators. They are used in a wide range of industries and automation applications. The actuators are driven by various motor types. An electric actuator is a mechanical device used to convert electricity into kinetic energy in a single linear or rotary motion. It also automates damper or valve to increase process efficiency and complexity. The motor of an electric actuator is operated on any voltage and is used across many different industries.
There are now many more applications for electric actuators due to the movement towards massively increased technology taking place in the automation industry. New process controllers are being equipped with last-generation electric actuators. Electric actuators are seen in a number of industries. They’re mainly used in industrial applications associated with manufacturing valves, pumps, and motors. The most commonly automate industrial valves, and many types of technical process plants use them, these are:

A linear actuator is an equipment that is used to create motion in a straight line, in contrast to the circular motion of an electric motor. An electric linear actuator is a device that transforms the rotational motion of AC or DC motor into linear motion – that is, it provides both push and pulls movements. These actuators can be applied across a wide range of factory and automation applications.
A valve actuator is a device that requires a power source to operate a valve. This power source can be electric, pneumatic or compressed air, or hydraulic (the flow of oil). There are two main types of actuators. One for each of the two main types of valves. They are called rotary and linear.
Rotary Valve Actuators
As the name implies, rotary valve actuators produce the rotational motion needed to operate rotary valves such as ball, plug, and butterfly valves. Rotary actuators are available and seen in many different styles, each with its own benefits.
Linear Valve Actuators
Linear valves such as a globe, gate, and pinch valves and many more – due to their distinctly different operation require actuators that are drastically different from the rotary type. These actuators always produce linear motion to operate the valve. They are also available in many styles.
Electric actuator for ball valves:
Actuated Ball Valves are typically used for ON/OFF or controlling and changing control of water, air, oil, and other compatible sources. Actuated ball valves with electric actuators or pneumatic actuators are used for valve automation applications. Actuated valves are also seen in brass, stainless steel, PVC. Valve types include 2-way valves and 3-way valves.
Electric Actuator 12 volt:
Actuator 12v is designed for applications and industries where space is limited and lighter loads are used. The 12V power is often taken from a battery. Therefore 12-volt linear actuator is easier to use on automobile machines and off-highway vehicles automation. At the same time, we can also provide general improvements in mechanical efficiency, speed, or load capacity. 12 Volt heavy duty actuators are mainly used in industrial automation machines. They are widely be used in motorized vehicle-mounted arrow board, steering wheel and seat adjustment, trailer tilting, and hood lifting, etc.
Electric actuator for butterfly valves:
Electric actuators are used to rotate an output drive to open and close butterfly valves. Electric actuators are a source of a reliable and economical method of operating these valves from a remote location. For modulating or controlling valve applications, an electric actuator with positioning can control the valve flow with a 4-20mA signal.
