Mukyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana is launched by the Uttar Pradesh Government in Bihar state. The chief minister of Bihar has taken the initiative of launching this scheme for the wellness of women of the state. Under the scheme, from the birth of the girl child till her graduation, the government will provide financial help of 54100 rupees. On the basis of eligibility, the government will provide an amount of 25000/- of rupees to girl children after her completion of graduation. Bihar government will help 1.60 girls of the state by providing them financial assistance.
The scheme will enable us to make a girl self-reliant by allowing them to educate themselves. Grants them to live in an honorable manner and to eradicate infant feticide. The scheme will also be able to increase the rate of women empowerment in the state of Bihar. The budget for the scheme is Rs. 840 crores. The government wants to eradicate early girl child marriage, mortality rate, etc through this scheme. The scheme will also enable to assist girl child to continue her studies in the future also.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE SCHEME
• Applicant must be a girl.
• Applicant should be the permanent resident of the Bihar state.
• Applicant must belong to the economically backward family and weaker section of the society.
• No member of the girl’s family should be working in the government sector.
• A family must have one or two girl children for applying for this scheme.
